6. The Vertical Slotted “Tube”

Instead of an open tray, this design uses vertical slots in a ceramic cylinder. Birds have to cling to the sides to pull seeds out, which is a natural behavior for woodpeckers and nuthatches. It’s a great “no-waste” option.
