5. DIY Feather Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatchers are a classic feather craft. According to tradition, the web catches bad dreams while the feathers allow the good dreams to slide down to the sleeper. They are beautiful to look at and highly customizable with different colors and beads.
- Materials Needed:
- Metal or wooden hoop
- Suede lace or ribbon (to wrap the hoop)
- String or sinew (for the web)
- Feathers
- Beads
- Steps:
- Wrap the entire hoop in suede lace, securing the ends with glue.
- Weave a “web” inside the hoop using string, adding beads as you go.
- Tie three strings to the bottom of the hoop.
- Attach 2-3 feathers to the end of each string using beads to hide the knots.
- Hang it above your bed.
Pro Tip: Use peacock feathers for the bottom strings to add a vibrant, iridescent pop of color to your room.
