A large mirror above the fireplace is a classic choice, but a modern frame can make it feel fresh. Opt for oversized mirrors with thin metal frames, rounded edges, or even frameless designs with beveled edges. The mirror will reflect light, making the room feel larger, while the frame adds a contemporary touch.

For extra impact, choose a mirror with an unconventional shape—think arched, circular, or asymmetrical. Hang it at eye level (about 5–6 feet from the floor) to create a balanced focal point. If your fireplace is wide, consider a horizontal mirror, or go vertical for a narrow hearth.
